Pfalz Castle near Kaub reminds one of a ship, and not without reason, as it stands in the middle of the River Rhine. It was built as a toll tower and it is thanks to its position in the strong current that it could never be captured by enemies. The Schreiber model has been completely re-developed and is larger than the former one.
